The Petroio Terracotta Museum

The Terracotta Museum is housed in what is thought to have been the Palazzo Pretorio, built around the middle of the 13th century and is on three floors. The exhibits start on the first floor with the story of terracotta work in the Sienese area, and in Petroio in particular.

On the top floor the technological passage from an old workshop to a modern factory is well illustrated.
The lower ground floor houses temporary exhibitions.

The exhibition continues with virtually three itineraries which start from the Museum itself: two proceed through the town and a third leads onto a reconnaissance tour of the surrounding territory.
